Beira Fuel Terminal Project
Beira Bulk Petroleum Company’s (BBPC) mission is to extend the existing petroleum pipeline that currently runs from Beira, Mozambique to Harare, Zimbabwe. This 400km extension will continue the pipeline to Chongwe, Lusaka with a substation in Chirundu. This project will provide lower fuel costs to individuals and businesses, strengthen ties between neighboring countries and be a model for similar projects in the future.
In addition to building sustainable communities along the pipeline, the bulk fuel terminal in Lusaka will include approximately 250 hectares. Along with housing for staff, storage, processing and logistics, additional land will be acquired to empower local famers with out grower schemes of casava and, in the future, stevia crops. The casava will provide raw materials for bio-ethanol fuel production. The stevia crops will provide a gateway for Zambia to enter the lucrative natural sweetener market. The final phases of development will include a hospital, school, shopping, churches, community center, police station, sports facilities and emergency services. All implementing BBCP’s credo: Empowering Communities, Transforming Lives
